Points for BLS.

After more than five years, SBB Infrastructure is producing points for BLS once again. BLS and SBB approved the first four points together at the end of February.

In the spring of 2019, the Swiss infrastructure operator BLS Netz AG put out a tender for a total of almost 200 points in three lots. In the autumn, the contract for the first lot was awarded to SBB, who had impressed BLS with their offer of standard points. The rail technology centre (BTC) in Hägendorf will be manufacturing over 130 points for BLS, and the work will likely be completed by 2024.

Large points order.

“We are delighted that, after five years, we will again be producing points for a large contract with BLS,” said SBB Key Account Manager Claudio Krebs. The BTC works ran at top speed in the last weeks of the project so that the first four points would be ready by the end of February 2020. “Thanks to good collaboration with BLS and within SBB, we have been able to keep to the tight schedule,” reported a delighted Claudio Krebs.

A shared joy is twice the pleasure – and so the successful approval of the Breitenacker W102 points in the Hägendorf rail technology centre factory acceptance test was celebrated with BLS.

Incidentally, those same Breitenacker points will soon be installed at Kehrsatz on the BLS route between Bern and Belp.
