Infrabel successfully uses RCS.
Belgian infrastructure operator Infrabel is now controlling its rail traffic with the Rail Control System (RCS).
Infrabel is the first infrastructure operator outside Switzerland to opt for RCS. The project to migrate to RCS started at the end of 2013 with a project team made up of CSC and Infrabel specialists working towards the launch of RCS in late 2016. SBB shared its system and rail operations experience with Infrabel as and when required. Infrabel successfully completed implementation in mid-November 2016, and the company now uses RCS to manage the 5,000 trains that operate across Belgium’s rail network every day. RCS allows busy hubs such as Brussels to be navigated even more efficiently.
